HERE ARE OUR FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.
Do you take my insurance?
While Align to Health does require payment at time of service, we can provide the necessary documentation for submission to insurance for reimbursement. We do accept and handle the filing of Medicare.
Will the doctor adjust me on my first visit?
This is determined on a case by case basis by the doctor. After a history is taken and x-ray examination, the decision to move forward with an adjustment will be made. Receiving and adjustment on the initial visit is common and the patient should come prepared for such a scenario.
Does it hurt to get adjusted?
There can occasionally be a little soreness after the adjustment, similar to what you would experience if you were to go to the gym for the first time, but it is very rare and more commonly it will actually feel good. The doctor will always take great care during your adjustments and apply lower force techniques when needed.
Are chiropractors doctors?
Yes. Doctors of Chiropractic (also known as chiropractors) are not medical doctors, but go through a similar education process to become licensed in the field of chiropractic care. In fact, educational requirements for chiropractors are among the most stringent of any health care profession.
Are adjustments safe?
Chiropractic care is widely recognized as one of the safest drug-free, non-invasive therapies available for the treatment of most back and neck problems. Spinal adjustments are extremely safe when performed by a licensed chiropractor.
Can I see a chiropractor if I am pregnant?
Many pregnant women find that chiropractic adjustments improve the pregnancy experience and make delivery easier. Adjustments are adapted to accommodate the stage of pregnancy and the unique needs of each patient.
Is it safe for infants and children to be adjusted?
Yes! Chiropractic care is very safe and extremely effective for both infants and children. The birth process can be physically challenging for the newborn child based on positioning at the time of delivery, and whether the delivery was natural or caesarian. The Chiropractor can determine if an adjustment is necessary for the newborn using several very basic neurological reflex checks. The delivery of the adjustment to a newborn child is one of the most gentle because the newborn spine is mostly cartilage. Regular Chiropractic checkups for children are also very beneficial for the developing spine and nervous system. The spine is comprised of many moving parts and intricate joints that may be compromised during typical falls, accidents, or athletic activities. Beyond skeletal health, Chiropractic has been proven, based on studies conducted by neuroimmunologists, to improve immune system function and digestive health.
